Can you tell what my summer style staple is? Whether they are embellished, floral, edgy, brightly patterned or basic boyfriend cutoffs, shorts are in my style arsenal! Dressed up with a killer stiletto or dressed down with wedges or even a sneaker, I’ll be rocking some version of short pants this season.

‘Sly as a Fox’ gold knuckle ring, $12 at Lulus.com
Darlings, knuckle rings (AKA ‘midi’ rings) are a bandwagon I’ve been slow to get on, because I generally go ring-less. However, once I saw this foxy (!) ring on Lulus.com, I was ready to climb aboard. Have you tried adoring your fingers with one or more of these delicate rings that rest just above your knuckles? Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Francesca’s and Lulu’s all have super cute, budget-friendly options that allow you to rock the look without breaking the bank! Which is great, because this is not a trend I would go too crazy trying. One well-placed midi ring will provide just enough sass for me.

Happy Friday darlings! The calendar says it’s officially summer, and we’re ready for sundresses, sandals and SUNSHINE! And in the spirit of the season, here are SCDD’s top picks from C. Wonder , which opens this fall at the Summit!
I had a fabulous time hosting the Belk Fashion Show during the Birmingham Business journal’s Women’s Summit this past Friday at the Wynfrey Hotel! The models were Belk’s store associates, and they did an amazing job showcasing looks from Trina Turk, Plenty by Tracy Reese, Sunny Leigh, Vince Camuto and more. If you’re looking for on-trend attire that is appropriate for work and play this Spring, Belk has it!
Like my outfit? I’m wearing an antique white and hot orange Bar III Spring Collection peplum dress from Macy’s and Manolo Blahnik stilettos with a fuchsia rattan clutch (similar here, here and here). I thought I’d try some color-blocking to accent my (new) red hair!
I have a friend (who shall remain nameless), who’s holding on to some stuff. You know, stuff: dropwaist, large-collared dresses from the 1980s, suits with shoulder pads, boxes and boxes of shoes she never wears, hanger after hanger of black pants. Sentimental pieces that recall beautiful memories, ill-considered fast fashion purchases that were worn once and shoved to the back of the closet and forgotten (and now the trend has passed), skirt and dresses she’ll wear when she loses that last ten pounds.
