Who knew rocking ‘shades of grey’ would become a “thing”?
Singers Kelis and Rihanna have been seen rocking grey hair. Tell me how you feel in the comment section: is this a trend to try or a big no ma’am…unbelievably chic or a shade too close to Cruella de Vil?
*As the owner of a pretty wicked silver streak, I’m going to refrain from commenting.

A literal fan tangled with Beyonce’s blonde ‘do during last night’s stop on the Mrs. Carter Show world tour in Montreal. And as this is Beyonce’s world, you can guess how this played out.
I wanted to share two of the super chic looks worn at the recent Soiree at SoHo. I had a lovely time, and the Role Model Runway was so fun (I managed not to trip or fall!). It was a pleasure celebrating the work accomplished by the Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama.
On Alexis:Vince Camutotwisted neckline maxi dress (similar, here). I love the graphic chevron print as well as the slight pop of citrus yellow at the neckline. Perfect for cocktails or luncheons, it flatters a multitudes of silhouettes; it flatters the shoulders and neckline. We also added a matching yellow belt for an additional pop of color. This airy chiffon dress was so comfortable that I just wanted to twirl all the way home in it!
Here’s a look at the fabulous fashions worn by all the Role Models this year ( the outfits were graciously provided by Belk).
This event will feature a fashion show and video premiere from vintage lifestyle brand Harold & MOD plus music by DJ Coco and Shook Foil tonight at the Good People Brewing Company. Parking may be iffy, so get there early darlings…my leather shorts and I will be in the building!

Project Runwayseason 12 begins on Lifetime tonight! If you didn’t care for the team challenges last season, this season has a few different surprises, including an expanded role for Tim Gunn. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show’s resident sage will provide insight to the judges about the design process, and will also be able to save a designer from elimination. In another twist, the judges won’t know who the designers of each piece are until after votes are tabulated. This season will also include a designer from Alabama: Ken Laurence!
A little more about Ken: “at the age of 10, his interest in fashion design was peaked and he began sketching. By the age of 13, he enrolled himself into a home economics class, where he began to use his first sewing machine. Mastering fashion illustration and sewing basics, he began educating himself on pattern making, textiles, and the prerequisites of being a fashion designer. From that moment forward, he adopted FASHION not only as an art form but as a lifestyle!”
I expect him to present a strong point of view just from viewing his home visit, closet tour and portfolio. Planning to watch at 8PM? Follow me on Twitter tonight (@SameChicSouth) as I provide my usual commentary about the designs and designers. Yes, I will watch while wearing my Raybans, a la Michael Kors.
